The curriculum covers core subjects like Science of Music, Applied Principles of Music, Technical Terms, and Stage Demonstration, alongside electives in areas such as Indian classical, folk, and light music. Students benefit from a holistic education rooted in tradition, with expert faculty, regular cultural activities, and exposure to legendary musicians and reference texts. Science of Music

– Concepts: Music, Sound, Shruti, Notes (Pure, Modified, Movable, Immovable), Main Note, Consonant Note, Assistant Note, Dissonant Note

– Establishment of notes in the present octave

– Definition of Saptak (Lower, Middle, High), Varn, Ornamentation, Static, Antara, Sanchari, Abhog

– Characteristics of musical sound: Intensity, pitch, quality, duration, vibration, frequency, sub-notes

 


 Applied Principles of Music

– Raag and Thaat: Definition, comparison, introduction to ten Thaats

– Types of Raag: Supported note, main consonant, assistant, dissonant, forbidden notes, ascending-descending, distinctive phrase, Raag genre (Audav, Shadav, Sampurna)

– Dhrupad, Dhamar, Khyal, Tarana, Chaturang, Lakshan Geet, Swarmalika, introduction to Masitkhani and Razakhani compositions

– Knowledge: Classical Music, Light Music, Folk Music, importance of Song, Ghazal, Hori
